Often, female followers comment that there are many women who do "everything" in the home, but no men that do. This is patently untrue, although if you have been raised to view men as "useless," then it can feel very true. In this episode I discuss men who do "everything" in much the same way that some women do (e.g., https://www.drpsychmom.com/2014/10/23/reader-q-husband-adhd-ruining-marriage/). Often, just as women are ashamed to admit when they are the higher libido partner, men are ashamed to admit when they do the bulk of the childcare/housework because this is counter to traditional gender narratives and make the men feel as bad about themselves and and their partners as women do when they are the sexual pursuer. This episode can help to validate men in this situation while also helping other listeners interrogate their implicit gender biases.
