This is Dario Argento's directorial debut, filmed in 1969, released in early 1970. It is an early classic example of the Italian Giallo genre film that blends horror with pulpy detective thrillers and would help usher in the slasher genre in America in the 1980's. This is one of Argento's top 5 best films on most people's rankings of his catalog. It has a very Hitchcockian vibe and is filmed and paced similarly to some of Hitchcock's later 60's and 70's work. The cinematography is beautiful. The plot is nice and twisty. All of the boys but Kelan had seen this film before. We watched it again this week, and we all have our hot takes on this film, Giallo, and Argento. Tune in to see how we rank it in the Dario Argento Cannon.
