Ep143. Why vegan cooking is anything but dull, with School Night Vegan
Today's action-packed episode is all about the food!
In part 1, we take you on a little trip to London to sample a 'tree-course meal' with Treedom and Plates London before stopping by at 123V – a new vegan restaurant from Michelin-star chef Alexis Gauthier. We try the sushi, made from vegan salmon and crab, a Korean kimchi burger and chickpea fries.
We also sample some incredibly creamy vegan cheese from Julienne Bruno that you can buy online or find at Harrods.
Stay tuned for part 2 when Holly chats to the amazingly talented Richard Makin, otherwise known as School Night Vegan. He explains how he went from running an ice cream truck to being a successful vegan food blogger with over 200,000 followers and a new book – Anything You Can Cook, I Can Cook Vegan.
We cover food nostalgia, the myth that veganism is limiting and how to be a mad scientist in the kitchen and shift the goalposts to produce creative and incredibly delicious vegan recipes. And yes, we even talk about how to make a vegan fried egg.
