This week's episode of True Crime New England takes you just below the border of Canada, in Chain of Ponds, Maine, during labor day weekend of 1975. The Newton family, made up of mom Jill, dad Ron, 6-year-old Kimberly and 4-year-old Kurt, took a trip with three other families to celebrate one last weekend outdoors before the fall really set in. On the last day of their fun-filled camping adventure, Kurt disappeared. Over the course of the next two weeks, thousands of people searched for Kurt, checking every inch of the woods. Bloodhounds, helicopters, and even a plane used in the Vietnam War were brought in to try and find the missing little boy. Unfortunately, after extreme efforts by his family, game wardens, and locals, Kurt has never been seen again. Now, 48 years later, the question still remains: where is Kurt Newton? Anyone with any information is asked to please call the Maine State Police at 207-289-2155.
