Episode 135: Gentlemen Prefer Blondes ( 1953)

This week at The Film Club we’re talking about a true gem of a movie musical, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. The film tells the story of Dorthy and Lorelei who are best friends and show girls. Dorthy and Lorelei are polar opposite’s when it comes to love, Dorthy seeks true love with no worry of her potential love being rich or poor. Lorelei looks for financial stability in a partner and then love, which she has in her fiancé Gus who adores her and also happens to come from a wealthy family. Dorthy and Lorelei go on a cruise to France but what they don’t know is Gus’ father has hired a private detective to follow the ladies on the cruise to get evidence that Lorelei is only engaged for financial gain.
