On Substack, someone asked if I would change my opinion about what happens to the Dilbert guy if the Dilbert guy is not cancelled by the mob. I was unsure what was being asked, so I did not reply at the time, but thinking about it the question was really a challenge to my claim that Adams would get hurled into the void for the crime of speaking honestly about race. The commenter thinks Adams is too big to be cancelled, due to the popularity of Dilbert.
It looks like the mob is undeterred by the popularity of Dilbert. The Washington Post has stepped in to helpfully offer to lead the mob against Adams. Once the A-list media hubs join the mob, it is the signal for all of the small players to follow suit, so they can pretend to be deeply worried about the heresy of this terrible sinner named Scott Adams. It also means there will be calls made to his syndicator about dropping the strip from their rotation.
Now, cancelling Adams may not be as easy as cancelling other people. Lashing out at a person who does comedy for a living is not a great idea. It is like attacking a clown. You come off as deranged. That and what Adams said is what tens of millions of white people are thinking. Throw in the African fatigue that is palpable now and this cancel campaign could be the bridge too far. Even so, it is not the way to bet as fanatics lack the normal internal mechanisms to see that they have gone too far. This is what makes them fanatics, so I expect them to double down on their jihad against Adams.
