Aloha and welcome to the Sobriety Rocks Podcast! I’m your host Kirk Waterman, today we going to talk about Self-Forgiveness
Osho said, “The first and foremost thing is to be loving toward yourself. Learn how to forgive yourself— again and again and again.”
When I was drinking and using, I rarely had compassion for myself. It was extra hard when I kept taking the same self-destructive action over and over and over.
What a relief it was when I found people in the rooms just like me, who had changed their behavior, cleaned up their pasts, and forgiven themselves. I hadn’t thought self-forgiveness was possible before that.
All these years later I’m grateful I was taught to look at my faults, clean-up the damage I have done, help others, and take the next right action. It's the only way I can be sure that no matter what happens, I will love, accept, and forgive myself.
Wherever you are on your path, today is the day to forgive yourself, love yourself and let yourself blossom like never before. Because forgiving yourself, believing in yourself, and choosing to love yourself, are the best gifts any of us can receive.
Today we close with a forgiveness meditation to bring more peace, love and forgiveness into our hearts and minds.
