279: How to Navigate Dark Times in Life with Kute Blackson
Episode Summary:
Life can be challenging, and it’s easy to live self-contracted, self-focused, self-protected, selfishly, and in one’s ego. However, living with an open heart, daring to love, care, service, and live for a purpose bigger than oneself can be difficult.
In today’s special episode of SoulTalk Podcast, let me deep dive into the world of darkness and share some tips on how you can navigate through these dark times to see the sparks and lights at the end of the tunnel.
The word ‘darkness’ is often associated with the lack of light, the absence of brightness, or the presence of shadows. It can evoke feelings of fear, uncertainty, and mystery. Darkness is also linked to the unknown and unseen. Then this negativity metaphorically relates to emotions such as despair, hopelessness, and sadness.
As human beings, we likely go through stages of darkness triggered by major disruptions in life, such as divorce, illness, loss, betrayal, abuse, job loss, financial hardships, break-ups, or poverty. But let me say this straight to you, this darkness you are experiencing right now can represent privacy, solitude, and a sense of security leading to a better, wiser, and bolder better version of yourself. Because darkness can be a potent time that reveals something deeper about yourself and darkness forces you to look inside yourselves for the light which is always present within you.
One thing is for sure, you had, you’re experiencing now, or you’ll have to go through darkness whether you like it or not. Darkness is innate to you, to us, human beings. Head over to this week’s episode to learn more about some ways how you can navigate dark times in your life.
