This episode’s guest is Elizabeth Scott who is an educator, psychotherapist, and the co-founder of The Body Positive, which is a nonprofit organization focused on eating disorders prevention. Elizabeth’s work focuses on the intersection of embodiment, social justice, and mindfulness. At The Body Positive she also serves as the Director of Training and she teaches people to listen to their bodies, learn, and thrive with the ultimate goal to end harmful consequences of disrupted embodiment, such as eating disorders, depression, anxiety, cutting, suicide, substance abuse, and relationship violence. She instructs treatment professionals, educators, and students to use the Be Body Positive model to transform people’s relationships with their bodies so that they are free from body dissatisfaction so they can mobilized and do good for the world.
