Maybe the drama just needed to end for the seemingly black cloud over Columbus to be lifted. The drama of course referring to now-former Blue Jackets’ center Pierre-Luc Dubois being traded for star scorer Patrik Laine from the Jets.
And if Saturday’s 5-2 win over the Lightning — the first in the post-PLD era — is any indication, there’s a reason that spirits might be high as the team appeared looser already. With Patrik Laine now aboard, as well as Columbus native Jack Roslovic, the Blue Jackets have a big week ahead with some other notable Jackets’ alumni coming back to town.
