Eddie Leonski, a member of the US Army, was a serial killer known as the Brown Out Strangler. He strangled three women in Melbourne, Australia in 1942. Leonski claimed he killed the women to get their voices. He had a troubled childhood and a deep resentment towards his mother. He was arrested, tried, and convicted under American military law.
