Join Katie and Liz this week on True Crime New England as they take you back over 100 years to Bennington, Vermont in 1902. At only 15, Mary married her husband, 12 years her senior, and instantly knew the married life wasn't for her. After losing their only child in a "freak accident", as well as a suspicious poisoning incident, Mary's husband moved away to New York and she refused to go with him, allowing herself to live the promiscuous lifestyle she enjoyed. Getting several men wrapped around her finger, she was able to find a lover that would help her stage her husband's death. However, when her crime is discovered, and she is sentenced to hang, the whole state of Vermont seemed to oppose the idea of a woman being hung. Tune in to this week's episode to hear the interesting historical case of Mary Rogers.
