Connect with her on Instagram @calmtogether - - - - - - - - - Julia Fisher is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board-Certified Art Therapist who has worked with groups and individuals from a variety of backgrounds and ages. She is the founder of CALMTogether (Creating Art, Linking Moms together) which provides art therapy to individuals and to groups of mothers both virtually and in-person in the DFW area. Her specialties include: maternal mental health, life transitions, parenting, burnout, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and relationships. She completed her Master’s in Art Therapy and Counseling at Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Connecticut and is trained in evidenced-based therapies such as Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She believes that sometimes words are not enough to express the complicated feelings we may be experiencing and that we need a safe and caring outlet to handle the stress and discover solutions. Julia works collaboratively and creatively with her clients to enhance self-care and self-discovery using therapeutic techniques, which may include art therapy (no art experience needed) that are best suited and most comfortable for the client. In addition, she values a holistic approach to health and has collaborated with wellness practitioners from a variety of backgrounds to offer accessible mental health resources to the community through yoga and art therapy workshops as well as skin care and art therapy self-care workshops. She is also enthusiastic about offering support to student mental health professionals through trainings, mentoring and supervising. She currently resides in Dallas,Texas with her husband and three children.
