Sacramentals vs. Superstitions

April 1st, 2023 - Sacramentals make things and our lives holy. They include prayer, holy water, and blessed medals. The effect of sacramentals depend on our baptism and our faith when we use them. Superstitions are violations of the First Commandment because we are direction religious feeling and practices to something other than God. We shouldn't treat blessed objects as magic talismans that have power themselves. We are not to divine the future, conjure the dead (ghosthunting), or do black magic to seek power.
