Language of Love with Dr. Laura Berman
Health & Fitness:Sexuality
This Language of Love session is very special to me because I am joined by my college roommate and bestie since the 1980s, Dana Lathrop. The two of us reminisce a bit (including recounting some of the crazier antics we got up to in our youth). But we also dig into the issue of humility; is it ever real? Is it required for social acceptance? Is there something wrong with you if you have too much or too little humility?
If you struggle with self promotion, celebrating your accomplishments out loud or claiming your gifts, this episode will definitely inspire you.
Dana is definitely someone who is committed to humility. Dana is a very talented and accomplished artist, but she is uncomfortable stepping into the spotlight. In this week’s Language of Love session, I help her identify where that is coming from and more importantly, what she should do about it.
Join me as we tackle this topic from our differing perspectives; why is it important to sometimes toot your own horn? Is it ok for someone to be their own cheerleader? Is false humility worse or better than honest pride?
