Kevin starts off with a general update on the Men’s World Championship in Ottawa (3:00) and some interesting things happening with the ice (5:30). Warren explains the playoff system being used at the Worlds (6:50). The guys make their predictions for the Final Six at the Worlds (9:00), and Warren updates us on the Canadian Juniors where the Alberta girls made history (10:15) and then discusses the new inductees into the Curling Canada Hall of Fame (12:55).
After the break, Vice President of the WCF, Hugh Millikin joins the guys for ‘In the House’ (20:25). He tells the story of how he ended up a Canadian curler in Australia (20:50) the growth of curling worldwide (22:55). Kevin asks where and how they are going to handle the new events that are coming with this growth all over the world (24:45). Warren asks if there are plans to modify the tournament and playoff structures to accommodate the large amount of countries getting involved (30:00) and the future plans for mixed doubles (34:45). Hugh talks about the transition to streaming and the new ways of broadcasting the sport (40:15).
Afterwards, the guys reflect on the interview and further discuss new ways to update and modernize the sport and fill the downtimes during games (44:05). They answer a question from the mailbag about scoring, percentages and timeout rules (46:30). All 3 guys weigh in on Canadian fans cheering when the opposing team makes a bad shot (52:00) and also discuss some retro curling fashion (55:30).
