The manifold wisdom of God is often manifested through different voices of God’s people, listening and responding to the scripture and the Spirit and one another in conversation. Today our roundtable consists of Sue Eikenberry, Jim Eikenberry, D. Jay, Martin, Tim Doering.
[1:55] What does it mean to lead out of resurrection?
[3:00] Resurrection requires death; death always proceeds resurrection. The Apostle Peter experienced a falling and rising over and over again.
[5:20] As I abide in Christ, my daily failures are restored in His resurrection glory today.
[6:30] If I’m thinking about leading from a place of life, that means I need to be connected to the source of life.
[7:25] Point people to God and make room for people’s gifts.
[8:55] Living according to the Scripture: Jesus is alive. Everything He said is true. Everything about the Hebrew Bible about Jesus is true.
[10:14] Jesus lives to fill us with God’s own presence.
[12:15] Much of our ministry is just introducing people to the presence of Jesus.
[13:15] Fearless comes with the resurrected Lord; not even death can stop Jesus.
[14:40] Reflecting on shared thoughts
[15:50] Resurrection life is not made for the healthy but the sick, not the living but the dead.
[17:05] The love of God is based in the truth of the resurrection.
[19:30] If something hasn’t died AND something hasn’t been transformed, it’s not resurrection leading.
[22:30] Scripture Reading - John 21:1-25 NIV
[26:50] Highlights of the Text Reading
[27:15] Jesus wants to be with his disciples
[29:15] Peter dives into the water, isn’t worried about walking on the water
[31:30] The tension of tenderness (“Children”) and authority (“what’s that to you?”)
[35:00] It’s awesome you’re running after Me, but make sure you’re taking care of the sheep. If you love me, don’t just chase after me, care for them.
[37:50] Attending to the commentary - Jesus walks into our lives at key / mundane moments.
[43:20] Benediction - We know the power of the resurrection is real amd Jesus is risen from the dead. And yet, there still seems to be a lot more to come.
