People who say things like, "I can't imagine ever being someone who would do X" or "I just don't understand people who Y" in a judgmental way at are massive risk of ruptures with their spouses and kids. (For X or Y insert any behavior you don't like, e.g., cheat, be a stay at home parent, stay in a sexless marriage, be religious, not be religious, engage in certain sexual acts, or whatever else.) Closedmindedness is one of the biggest obstructions to true intimacy, because it precludes empathy. Listen for more about how judging and opining about others, particularly when you've never been in the situation, stops people from confiding in you and feeling close!
