57 {Ali Flynn} Part 2: Finding contentment in medical chaos
Trigger Warning: Strokes, medical recovery
Well we are properly into our second year of Challenges That Change Us and this week we are continuing with Part 2 of my story.
If you thought Part 1 had a lot, we are about to take a hard left turn into the world of medical challenges and delve into the moments of my health journey that left me feeling like I was dying a slow death.
In this episode I share:
- The moments I started having a stroke and how it ended with me in hospital not remembering people I’d known my whole life
- The long battle to recovery and my journey to compete in triathlons
- The big medical journey’s I have encountered with my daughters
- What happened when I was diagnosed with POTS
Key Quotes
“I was just thinking, I am dying a slow death here.”
“By the time I got to the hospital I couldn’t recognise people.”
“We spend so much time and energy on the things that we don’t value. I think we all fall in that rut of just doing and not doing what matters.”
