“I’ve labored long and hard for bread/ For honor and for riches/ But on my corns too long you’ve tred/ You fine haired Sons of Bitches.” This was a poem left by the famous gentlemen bandit Black Bart. He was one of the most notorious stagecoach robbers in Northern California and Southern Oregon. In the 1870’s and 1880’s. He was known for sophistication and style. Over 110 years later a man who shared the nickname Black Bart would be gunned down in his home while his gun never left its holster.
