The Stingrays open the 2023 Kelly Cup Playoffs this Saturday, April 22nd, at the North Charleston Coliseum for Game 1 of the Divisional Semifinal round against the Florida Everblades. Puck drop is set for 6:05 p.m. The Stingrays have Kelly Cup championships in 1997, 2001 and 2009, the Stingrays are tied with the Hampton Roads Admirals and the Alaska Aces for most league championships. The Stingrays have finished with the best record in the ECHL once, and qualified for the playoffs in all but two seasons. Kevin O'Neil and Carter Turnbull netted 24 goals for South Carolina each, while Josh Wilkins contributed 41 assists. Clay Stevenson registered a 2.54 goals against average, leading goaltenders with enough qualifying appearances. The South Carolina Stingrays completed the regular season in first place, clinching the South Division with wins over Savannah and Jacksonville this past Wednesday and Saturday. This week, the Stingrays open the 2023 Kelly Cup Playoffs with game 1 of the divisional semifinals against the Florida Everblades on Saturday.
