Buddha’s Mothers Day – OHS 134

Buddha's Mothers Day is one of the four Great Buddhist Holidays. In 2019 it falls on the 19th of November. This is one of my favorite of the great Buddhist holidays. I think it is very cool, unique, and special that one of the four great holidays in Vajrayana Buddhism is about Buddha's Mother. I simply love this day and have celebrated it for over a decade and a half with my mother. Each year I save a little money just so I can do nice things with her and celebrate her as a mother and especially my mother. This year is similar with a little extra on it. As I write these show notes and recored this podcast it is actually Lha Bab Duchen or Buddha's Mothers Day. I just git back from taking my mother to dinner and out for a drink. I started to celebrate last Friday and have done some special for my mother each day for the past five days. I am grateful for the opportunity to repay the kindness of my mother and celebrate her on this most auspicious day. Thanks for listening!
