Interviews With "Carmen" Director Benjamin Millepied & Composer Nicholas Britell
"Carmen" had its world premiere at last year's Toronto International Film Festival, where it received positive reviews for Benjamin Millepied's bold vision, re-telling the popular French opera through primarily interpretative dance, spellbinding cinematography and a glorious score from Nicholas Britell. The film is being released this weekend in theaters by Sony Pictures Classics. Millepied (interviewed by Dan Bayer) and Britell (interviewed by me) were kind enough to lend a few minutes to talk about their work on the film. Please take a listen down below as they discuss their collaboration, how they wanted to create a unique vision for Bizet's opera, working with stars Melissa Barrera and Paul Mescal, and more! Thank you, and enjoy!
