I think the video will give you a good feel for the week and the "state of the industry." Here is a short overview:
- The industry has touched grass and reality
- No hype, no FOMO, less excitement, "just" building
- Great location for NFT NYC, the organization was very professional
- Good amount of people, but less than last year (this was expected)
- The side events are more than the glue holding the industry together. They are where the magic of Web3 is at
- Too many speakers (about 1.500) at the conference, too many talks on too many stages
- The lack of curation of speakers and talks by the conference team is a disservice to the attendees and takes from the experience (it is necessary to change that, in my opinion, and everyone I talked to)
- The impact of digital art on the art market is going to surprise many people
- Web3 gaming just might be happening soon and might be a great catalyst for Web3 adoption and further innovation
The ultimate winner of this week is the people of Web3. I have a limited set of references from other industries, but the passion, energy, skills, comradery, and smarts of the people of Web3 gives me a very positive outlook on the future.
As long as those people are building, Web3 is on a good path to contribute useful solutions to our digital future.
Thank you all for a wonderful week in New York. You are awesome 🤗
