365 Brothers - Listening to Black Men
Society & Culture:Relationships
Cleveland native Alex Mayweather is unstoppable. That's not to say he never wanted to quit. It's just not in his nature to do so.
In the midst of fighting skin cancer, he was diagnosed with PML - - progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy. PML results in deterioration of white matter in the brain. It has left Mayweather paralyzed in one arm and the opposite leg. He's retained a great and graceful sense of humor, calling it "The coolest thing about me right now."
What are his plans--completing his college degree and pursuing a master's in psychology. If you want to know what a positive, reflective and courageous Brother sounds like, listen to this episode.
Alex's favorite quote is Norman Vincent Peale's "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars."
Alex's favorite song is Glory by John Legend and Common.
