Andrea Malkin Brenner, PhD is a nationally recognized college transition educator who speaks and writes about the challenges related to the transition to college. She has a specific interest in working with students with learning differences. Andrea draws on her 25 years of experience as a college sociology professor and as the creator and director of American University’s first-year experience program. Andrea has received multiple awards for her teaching and program design.
Dr. Brenner is co-author of How to College: What to Know Before You Go (and When You’re There) (Macmillan), a student-facing book that guides students through their transition to college. She is also the creator of the Talking College™ card deck, the original deck of discussion prompts for college-bound students and their parent(s)/guardian(s) (available in English and Spanish) and co-creator of the upcoming Talking College™ Campus Visits card deck.
