It Takes a Village: Creating & Maintaining Psychologically-Informed Care Teams
Featuring: Greg Whitcomb, DC, Sherri Weiser, PhD, Lynn Gufeld, APRN, Brian Justice, DC, Marco Campello, PT, PhD and F. Todd Wetzel, MD
Psychologically-informed Practice (PiP) is defined as, “an approach to practice, with a focus on the identification and management of psychological and psychosocial obstacles to recovery of optimal function.” Growing evidence suggests that risk screening, reassurance, and advice to remain normally active positively affect outcomes. These recognitions, and the shift toward new reimbursement models, are increasing demand for practical means to optimize patient care through PiP. At present, PiP lags in spine care, with a lack of provider education as the primary obstacle.
This episode is a part of the comprehensive online, interactive course available at NASS. It features PiP faculty as they discuss real-world barriers and obstacles to the implementation of psychologically-informed practice.
