LSU football's Brian Polian leaves the program to be AD at John Carroll University

Former LSU football special teams coordinator and current general manager and director of recruiting, Brian Polian, announced Tuesday afternoon that he will be leaving the LSU football program to become the Athletic Director at his alma mater, John Carroll University.

Polian was the lone member of Brian Kelly's staff at Notre Dame that was retained at LSU when Kelly got the job in Baton Rouge. Polian served as the special teams coordinator and it was wildly unsuccessful; Polian led the 125th ranked special teams unit in the country and several special teams blunders throughout the season cost LSU points, yards, and even games. Because of the special teams struggles, Polian was moved to a fully off-the-field role serving as the general manager and director of recruiting. What does Polian's exit mean for LSU football?
