Second Class Citizen by Buchi Emecheta is a semi-autobiographical novel first published in 1974 with its theme centering on being a girl child in the eastern part of Nigeria in the early 60s and 70s, being an immigrant in England around that time period as well, tribalism, domestic violence, deadbeat-fathers, and irresponsible men and was a straightforward and engaging book to read.
