This evening we discuss Counting the Omer (in this week's Torah portion): its agricultural basis, and its historical basis. We quote Rabbi Aharon of Barcelona, and The Rav, Rabbi Yosef Soloveitchik, on gratitude, the purpose of freedom, and the nature of time.
