10@9 Counting Up or Down - May 5, 2023

This morning we discuss three answers to why we count the days of the Omer from 1-49 instead of 49-1, the way we would count to a rocket liftoff. We present answers from R. Aharon of Barcelona, The Rav, Rabbi Yosef Soloveitchik, and Dr. Benjamin Corn, head of radiation oncology at Tel Aviv Medical Center, based on insights of patients going through radiation treatment for cancer. Michael Whitman is the senior rabbi of ADATH Congregation in Hampstead, Quebec, and an adjunct professor at McGill University Faculty of Law. ADATH is a modern orthodox synagogue community in suburban Montreal, providing Judaism for the next generation.
