She went missing from her home in Lakewood, Washington on July 4th, 1996, only to be found brutally murdered and left in the woods. An intense investigation followed that led to the arrest and conviction of a child predator, Guy Rasmussen, that lived and lurked just houses away from Cyndi and her family.
