In this edition of Locked on Capitals Dan talks about how Alex Ovechkin has the top-selling jersey two year in a row According to ESPN's Greg Wyshynski, "Wyshynski Ovechkin has now ranked first in jersey sales two years in a row. The Washington Capitals star was aided this season by not only the Caps releasing two new jersey styles, but also his own ascent up the all-time goal scoring list."

Later in the show Dan talks about Ethan Frank and how he might be ready to play in DC sooner than later. "We're talking, just watching [him] at the start of training camp and he was flying," head coach Todd Nelson recalled. "Somebody made a comment, 'This guy can probably score 30 goals in the American League.' We're just up there just like the old guys from The Muppets, right. Somebody else says, 'Well, it's a tough league."

Later Dan talks about the Caps re-signing of Michael Sgarbossa The Washington Capitals have re-signed forward Michael Sgarbossa to a two-year, two-way contract ($775,000/$525,000), senior vice president and general manager Brian MacLellan announced. According to Washingtoncaps.com: "Sgarbossa, 30, recorded 58 points (21g, 37a) in 60 regular-season games with the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL) this season. The 6'0", 187-pound forward led Hershey in assists, points and power-play assists (16). In addition, Sgarbossa ranked tied for first on the team in game-winning goals (5), second in power-play points (18), tied for second in plus/minus (+19) and third in goals. Sgarbossa's 58 points marked his highest single-season point total since 2018-19 (65p in 75 GP), his first season with the Bears, while his 37 assists marked a career high. In 218 games with Hershey, Sgarbossa has recorded 194 points (79g, 115a)."
