Exorcising Witches Saul Pilkinghorne is an exorcist with a difference; he can see the demons that plague humanity. When a series of robberies occur the local police force bring in the Spiritual Investigator Saul Pilkinghorne as a consultant. The robbers are dressed as witches and with their wands are able to put a spell on their victims to mesmerise them into handing over the money. Saul works with Detective Harvey in finding out who these witches are and to find a way to capture them. The plot involves Saul having to investigate the pagan community, how he has to contend with people who believe in magic as well as a local community that fears people that are different and a police detective who just wants a simple life. Detective Harvey is an overweight lazy detective who sees everything in black and white terms, yet he wants to make that ‘big arrest’ that will bring him prominence in his department. Belinda and Lucy Crowe are cousins involved in a witches’ coven using their magical powers to commit robberies for money and the thrill of the ride. Saul Pilkinghorne investigates and soon realises it is not magic that the cousins have but they are being driven by a demonic entity. The book follows Saul as he investigates these crimes having to interview the pagan community, dealing with the sluggish Detective Harvey whilst also contending with the demons that possess most people he encounters. The show down is between the dark forces of black magic and the power of the Christ as Saul takes on the power of the witch. This is a story about magic, faith and demonic entities that drive people to do crazy things.... The Golden Dawn system was based on hierarchy and initiation, similar to Masonic lodges; however, women were admitted on an equal basis with men. The "Golden Dawn" was the first of three Orders, although all three are often collectively referred to as the "Golden Dawn". The First Order taught esoteric philosophy based on the Hermetic Qabalah and personal development through study and awareness of the four classical elements, as well as the basics of astrology, tarot divination, and geomancy. The Second or Inner Order, the Rosae Rubeae et Aureae Crucis, taught magic, including scrying, astral travel, and alchemy.
