How to Heal Emotional Trauma: Going Beyond Logic and Reason
If you cut your hand, a good cry isn't going to heal that wound. You can't heal a physical wound on an emotional level and you can't heal emotional pain on the mental level.
Often times, we try to "logic" our way to healing by justifying all the reasons why we shouldn't still feel emotional pain because of something that happened to us. When we don't fully processing and release emotional pain, we continue to experience the same emotional upset time and time again, even if our brain tells us we're "over it".
