Miami Hurricanes Scouting Insight, Talent & Character Over STARS, Breaking Down Class Of 2024
Rival fans have been taunting the Miami Hurricanes for “settling for too many 3-star” players in the class of 2024. So far, 7 of Miami’s 8 verbal commits in the class are 3-stars, with the lone exception being 4-star wide receiver Chance Robinson. Guest Larry Blustein, a high school football expert, joins host Alex Donno to explain the scouting process and why he does not believe in the star system.
Blu and Donno discuss Miami commits like LB Vincent Shavers, QB Judd Anderson, Safeties Isaiah Thomas and Dylan Day and running back Chris Wheatley-Humphry and why the stars don’t tell the full story here. Blu explains some of the politics that go into the star system and why he scouts the same way he’s been doing since the 1970’s. There have been instances where Miami will prioritize a 3 or a 4 star over a certain 5-star player if the personality is not a fit.
