There's no news like bad news. With GoldenEye bringing Bond back into the limelight, it put the pressure on it's sequel to continue the momentum. Rather than keeping the same tone as GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies went for a more cheesy approach under new director Roger Spottiswoode, known for directing buddy cop films in the 80s. The film sees Bond investigate media tycoon Elliot Carver, who is trying ignite a war between Britain and China to order to boost his own news network. Reception of the film was mixed, and it ended up getting overshadowed by Titanic at the box office but it still did well enough to carry on GoldenEye's success. Will Tom & Joe enjoy the more silly tone, or is it simply not delicious enough?
