This morning we discuss the first person with a placeholder name, Ploni Almoni, later in British law referred to as John or Jane Doe. Since we know who this is in the Book of Ruth, Naomi's brother in law, Tov, why is he given a fictitious name? We present Rabbi Yissachar Frand's answer, plus a great insight of Rabbi Chaim Kreisworth on the difference between kissing and hugging, and the deep lesson it teaches us about what we seek to gain from the holiday of Shavuot.
