FLEXCELLENCE: Fly Conversations with a Pilot (Part 1)
"To be a pilot, you need to be cool, calm, and collected. And that comes from talent -- an innate skill..." - Capt Dapo.
A conversation with Capt Dapo Olumide, one of Nigeria's most accomplished pilots. He has flown for the military, oil companies, and President Babangida on Airforce One. He is also the Managing Director of Nigeria Air, Nigeria's indigenous airline. This is his story. He takes us behind the scenes of his flying career and flying in general. He goes into some detail about his managerial career with Virgin Nigeria, Aero Contractors, and now Nigeria Air, as well as the unique challenges of creating a successful airline company in Nigeria. He debunked a number of myths about flying, told tales of being the only black person in flight school and the racism he faced, and makes the distinction between a good and an excellent pilot. Finally, he gave his thoughts on Peter Obi and the political climate. Sponsored by Avo Creative: https://adobe.ly/42iNG2r
