Treaty of Rome anniversary: March for Europe in Brussels
On Saturday (25 March), a March for Europe was held outside the European parliament on Place du Luxembourg, with simultaneous events happening in Rome, Berlin, London and more, to mark the 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome, which created the European Union as we know it.
"It is time to stand up for the equality, solidarity and justice that Europe promises," the organisers say. "It is time for the people of Europe to reclaim the European project as theirs. It is time to March for Europe, for democracy and for a new ideal that improves the lives of all Europeans."
