Strengthen The Sustainability Of Your Mindfulness Practices
Join me as I discuss the benefits of “Drop-In Mindfulness Practice.” This practice was introduced to me by Gina Biegal in her Stress Teen Instructor Certification program. Drop-In practices are slightly different from formal ones, such as body scans. Drop-In Practices are done anywhere at any time. The Drop-In Practice technique involves pausing and paying attention to your breath, body, and mind. For example, last week, I shared a discussion with you on the US Surgeon General’s report on the risks of social media use for teenagers. The take-awake message from my podcast last week was to be mindful and aware of the effects of social media on teens. Do a Drop-In Practice while you are browsing social media. This applies to teens and adults. Be aware of what’s going on with your brain, body, and breath before engaging on social media and then after engaging on social media. Bring you awareness of your emotions, your breathing, and physical tensions. During this episode, I guide you through a Drop-In Mindfulness Practice. Notice how we become more mindful of their body, breath, and mind during this activity.
Participating in a Drop-In practice motivates us to sustain mindfulness practice throughout our day. We do not need to wait to get into a particular position or check in at a studio. The Drop-In method supports Transition Awareness Breathing goals to practice mindfulness throughout daily transitions. Please join me as I share more about the uniqueness of Transition Awareness Breathing.
