Adam felt inspired to talk about this today because he and Patty were away last Friday and Saturday and had a really tough time in a great way. They were out hunting in the mountains with a guide, but the guide lost his GPS, so he had to go back and search for it while Adam and the kids were left alone for a bit, which is when they came upon some Native American site with a bunch of arrowheads that were hundreds of years old. They had been hiking for a while and Patty asked how much longer they had, to which Adam replied “About an hour.” As they persevered, they came upon some more fun discoveries that, along with having to face adversity, really made the whole adventure worth it.

“I said ‘You’re doing something really, really hard’ and I said ‘We don’t know when it’s gonna finish, but we know it will finish.’ and I said ‘In life, you’ll come up against these tough things that feel like they’re never going to end, but everything has a finish.’ And something just changed in him, and he was like ‘Yeah Dad, I can do this.’” 8:19
