Monna McDiarmid is a Canadian writer and international school counselor who has lived in Colombia, Mexico, Spain, Thailand and Japan. Currently, she and her partner live in a tiny apartment in Yokohama, Japan and an old, wooden house in Nova Scotia, Canada. She believes in the healing power of poetry, the sea, and a roaring fire in a wood stove. Her work, in all her roles, is focused on helping humans learn how to be kinder to themselves. The 38 Impossible Loves of Naoko Nishizawa is her first novel.
