This morning we examine God's response to Moshe's lowest point in his leadership in our Torah portion, B'Ha'alotecha. Using the insight of Rabbi Jonathan Sacks, we describe Moshe's model of leadership, which may have contributed to this problem. And we trace God's practical and sensitive response, which is a model for us in how to help ourselves and others when going through emotional crisis. Michael Whitman is the senior rabbi of ADATH Congregation in Hampstead, Quebec, and an adjunct professor at McGill University Faculty of Law. ADATH is a modern orthodox synagogue community in suburban Montreal, providing Judaism for the next generation.
