Steven and Shaun kicked off this week's Double Tap Express with their take on Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference where the tech giant dropped some serious tech news. They've got a new 15-inch MacBook Air, an upgraded Mac Studio, and a Mac Pro, all boasting the M2 chip.
On the software side, we've got iOS 17, iPadOS 17, and macOS 14 (Sonoma) coming our way with a bunch of cool features. And let's not forget the audio upgrades for AirPods and CarPlay, new control centre for TV OS, and revamped Watch Faces for Watch OS 10. But the showstopper was the Apple Vision Pro, a mixed-reality headset that's got everyone buzzing. We also had a deep dive into the accessibility of the new Apple Vision Pro. We heard from Michael Babcock and Shelly Brisbin on their initial thoughts from a blind and low vision perspective, and got a lowdown on the device's accessibility features and how the Voiceover screenreader will work on it. Shelly also shared her thoughts on the device being used indoors only, while Double Tap TV’s Marc Aflalo gave his two cents on the design of the device. Colin Hughes also talked about the benefits of this type of technology from his perspective as someone with muscular dystrophy.
And don't forget to catch the 'Other' Tech News This Week with Grace Scoffield, featuring stories about updates to Aira, good news for blind Reddit users and a much requested app that has come to the Blindshell Classic 2.
And in true Apple-style, we have our own One More Thing. And that’s your feedback, following the big news from Apple this week.
