Episode 68: Staying grounded in God; a conversation with Homicide Detective Mike Meislish
We are so blessed by Mike Meislish and his service with us at Desert Springs as our Head of Security and we're looking forward to sharing our conversation we got to have with him with you today!
⚠️ Before you listen, we do want to give you a trigger warning for this episode. Though specific details are not discussed murder, crime and things of that nature are talked about frequently in this conversation. ⚠️
Mike grew up all over the world - literally! His childhood years were spent traveling all over the world and when he was in high school his family settled in the New England area. Mike was raised Catholic but an event that happened at his church led him to convert to Christianity. One week he was in the Catholic Church and the next he was attending the Baptist church down the street. He came to know the true Gospel and was later baptized in Alaska (you'll have to listen to hear that story!). Mike has a decades long career in law enforcement with the majority of his work being in homicide investigation. Mike is open about how much evil he has seen but repeatedly says that God and the Bible have been what has constantly grounded him in his work and life. We were so encouraged because if someone like Mike who has seen the worst that the world has to offer can trust in God, we certainly have reason to place our trust in the Lord daily. Listen in, you'll be encouraged by Mike's perspective!
