#287: Two Golden Calves should Fix my Problem: Solomon part XI
1 Kings 12: 25-32 & Exodus 32:1-4
If you’ve missed the previous Solomon episodes, please go back and listen or you may be confused as to how we got where we are in today’s story. It is listed as Solomon part I.
Today, we hear King Jeroboam set up 2 golden calves as idols for the people in his kingdom. We define what idols are and also prompt the kids to talk with their families about:
1. Ways to grow your love for God
2. Discuss the shows you watch and see if you notice characters idolizing things.
3. Talk about what it looks like to like something versus loving something. God is a loving father & it’s His pleasure to give us good things & see us enjoy them but there’s a difference b/n enjoying something and loving it more than God.
