习近平同洪都拉斯总统卡斯特罗举行会谈

President Xi Jinping yesterday held talks with visiting Honduran President Iris Xiomara Castro Sarmiento in Beijing, pledging to work with Honduras to steer relations from a strategic【战略的】and long-term perspective. Zhang Hong has more.

国家主席习近平昨天（06/12）在北京同来华进行国事访问的洪都拉斯总统卡斯特罗举行会谈，并承诺与洪都拉斯合作，从战略高度和长远角度引领两国关系发展。记者张泓带来更多报道。

Xi said the bilateral relationship has started well, showing great dynamism【活力】and promise since March, when diplomatic relations were established. He expressed his readiness to work with the Honduran president from a strategic and long-term perspective for greater development.

习近平指出，今年3月中国同洪都拉斯建立外交关系以来，两国关系快速起步、开局良好。中国愿同洪都拉斯一道，从战略高度和长远角度引领和推动双边关系深入发展。

Xi noted that the one-China principle is the top prerequisite and political foundation for the establishment of diplomatic ties and voiced China's staunch support for Honduras' efforts to safeguard national sovereignty【主权】 and independence, promote development, and improve people's livelihoods. Xi said China will support the entry of specialty products from Honduras into the Chinese market, and is willing to negotiate a free trade agreement. He added that Beijing is willing to work with Honduras and other Latin American and Caribbean countries to advance the China-Community of Latin American and Caribbean States Forum.

习近平强调，一个中国原则是中洪建交和发展双边关系的首要前提和政治基础。中方坚定支持洪方为维护国家主权独立、促进发展、改善民生所作努力。中方将积极推动洪方特色产品早日进入中国市场，愿同洪方尽早开启商谈自由贸易协定进程。中方愿同包括洪都拉斯在内的拉美和加勒比国家一道，推动中拉共体论坛建设和中拉整体合作。

Castro said establishing diplomatic relations with China is the Honduran government's historic choice, noting her country firmly supports and abides by the one-China principle, and resolutely supports the Chinese government's efforts for national reunification. She said Honduras looks forward to enhancing cooperation with China in trade, investment, infrastructure, telecommunications, energy, science and technology.　　

卡斯特罗表示，同中国建交是洪都拉斯政府作出的历史性抉择。洪方坚定支持并遵守一个中国原则，坚定支持中国政府为实现国家统一所作的努力。洪方期待同中方加强贸易、投资、基础设施、电信、能源和科技等领域合作。

2.CCDC:HMPV OUTBREAKNOT EXPECTED TO IMPACTCHINA

中疾控：预计美国前期人偏肺病毒高发疫情对我国影响有限

TheChinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention said the outbreak ofhuman metapneumovirus, or HMPV, in the United States has a limited impact on China.

中国疾病预防控制中心表示，在美国爆发的人偏肺病毒（HMPV）疫情对我国影响有限。

The center said HMPVinfectionsspiked this spring in the U.S., but haddeclined rapidly sincelate April. It noted that summer weatherconditions are not suitable for thevirus tospread. After analyzing respiratory infectious diseases from 2009 to 2019, the Chinese CDC found that HMPV was thelastamong eight viruses causing acute respiratory【呼吸的】 illness, with a positive rate of 4 percent, far lower than that of influenza which is 28.5 percent.

中疾控表示，今年春天美国的HMPV感染率激增，但自4月下旬开始，由于夏季气候条件不适宜病毒传播，HMPV感染率持续快速下降。中疾控对2009至2019年呼吸道传染病监测数据分析表明，在引起急性呼吸道感染的8种病毒中，人偏肺病毒排名第8位，阳性率占比为4%，远低于流感病毒的28.5%。

外交部：敦促日方停止强行推进核污染水排海计划

After Tokyo Electric Power Company, operator of the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant, began tests of their nuclear wastewater discharging system. One Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson condemned the act. Sun Siqi has the story.

昨天（06/12）起，日本东京电力公司开始试运行福岛核污染水的排海设施。中国外交部发言人汪文斌今天（06/13）指责日方。记者孙思琪带来详细报道。

Tokyo Electric Power Company started a trial operation yesterday, which is expected to last two weeks. The Japanese government has argued that the purified "treated water" is no different than normal discharge water from a nuclear power plant.

东京电力公司昨天开始试运行岛核污染水排海设施，预计将持续两个星期。日本政府辩称，净化后的“处理水”与核电站的正常排放水没有区别。

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said today that Japan has yet to prove that discharging the wastewater into the ocean is safe. He added that data released by Japan have shown close to 70 percent of the treated nuclear wastewater failed to meet regulatory standards.

中国外交部发言人汪文斌今天表示，日本迄今未能证明核污染水排海安全无害。他指出日方自己公布的数据显示，近70%处理后的核污染水仍不达标。

Wang said Japan coined the term "treated" to whitewash the potential risks of such discharge.
日本创造了“处理”的概念，以掩盖核污染水排海的潜在风险。

The spokesperson said the effectiveness and maturity of Japan's purification facilities have not been assessed and certified by a third party. The discharge can last 30 years or longer, with more new wastewater being generated along the way.

汪文斌表示，日方有关净化装置的有效性和成熟度没有经过第三方的评价和认证。日方排海将持续30年甚至更久，这期间还将新产生大量的核污染水。

“日方不能将国际原子能机构技术工作组最终评估报告当做排海的‘护身符’和‘通行证’。事实上，日方同机构确定的工作组授权有限，没有评估排海以外的其他处置方案。无论出台什么样的最终报告都不能成为日方向海洋排放核污染水的借口。”

“The Japan side cannot take the final assessment report by the IAEA as a safety pass for nuclear wastewater discharge. In fact, the panel had limited authorization, and was not able to assess any alternative wastewater disposal solutions. No report of any kind should be used as excuse for Japan to dump nuclear wastewater into the sea.”

Wang added that China strongly urges Japan to stop pushing forward with the discharge, and to adequately assess the alternative solutions for the wastewater's disposal. He said Japan should dispose of the wastewater in a safe and transparent manner, and accept supervision from the international community.

汪文斌表示，中方强烈敦促日方停止强行推进排海计划，充分研究论证排海以外的处置方案，切实以安全、透明的方式处置核污染水，并接受严格国际监督。
