This morning we analyze a magnificent lecture by Rabbi Norman Lamm, delivered in 1996 on the nature of truth. We discuss the report brought back by the spies, and why, for three reasons, it is lacking in truth. This lesson is the key to overcoming the scourge of disinformation, false-news, and the loud pushing of lies to parade as truth, which is so prevalent today. Michael Whitman is the senior rabbi of ADATH Congregation in Hampstead, Quebec, and an adjunct professor at McGill University Faculty of Law. ADATH is a modern orthodox synagogue community in suburban Montreal, providing Judaism for the next generation.
