The Cleveland Browns are ready to challenge the Bengals for the AFC north.

The Cleveland Browns have bolstered their roster ahead of the 2023 NFL season, while the Cincinnati Bengals have not. The Bengals are widely considered to win a third consecutive AFC north title, that doesn't seem that clear cut.

The Browns defense has a new established boss in Jim Schwartz, his track record can not be ignored. They upgraded at edge rusher, defensive tackle, and safety. The only offensive upgrade for the Bengals is Oralando Brown Jr which will weaken their right tackle spot as Jonah Williams has always struggled against Cleveland.

On offense the Browns will have a now comfortable Deshaun Watson with a ton of weapons including newcomer Elijah Moore. The Cincinnati defense on paper is worse than it was in 2022 as they try to move on from Jessie Bates.

The week one and seventeen match-ups between these two teams should ultimately decide the AFC north.
